Coaching  For  Performance

Description

(part two of the Teleos Performance Management Series)

Overview
- Have you ever set expectations only to have others not understand or not perform
as you expected - but you couldn't figure out why?
- Have you ever struggled to explain some critical concept to another person only
to conclude "they just don't get it?"
- Have you ever sent a person to training only to wonder why they struggled or
failed to apply the new skills?
- Do you spend too much time "fire fighting" or cleaning up others' problems?
- Do you believe that you don't have enough time to coach?

CFP delivers a simple, structured process that enables managers to develop highly capable, self-directed performers. Effective coaching is more than just feedback or "show and tell" - it requires a manager to identify skills that limit effectiveness, assess a person's current capability, and then provide specific actions that can be applied immediately to improve performance. In CFP, participants learn a unique and powerful tool to assess capability - a tool that explains common challenges to understanding and performance. They also learn how to label specific skills and identify alternative approaches. During this two-day workshop, participants build skills to assess capability, create capability, and evaluate development progress.

Expected Business Value
- Significantly improve individual and organizational performance by...
- building new perspective and skills continuously
- developing people who can be self-directed
- Reduce the time and money spent on talent development by using more
effective and cost-efficient managerial coaching
- less time off-the-job
- easier to transfer skills from the classroom
- more incentive for individuals to learn and apply skills because coaching is
focused on improving "off-track" performance
- Shift more management time away from "fire fighting" and towards strategic
thinking and problem solving
- Implement a powerful and shared approach to managerial coaching, an approach that
can provide the foundation for more effective performance and
talent management systems.
