Bob specializes in executive development with individuals and teams. He also works with senior executive teams in Human Resources, helping them to build and increase their internal coaching capability. He has also helped organizations to develop effective performance evaluation systems based on strategic business objectives.
Bob has developed an approach to executive assessment and coaching based on the developmental progression of adult thinking capacities, validated by twenty years of research and practice. These capacities have a direct influence on how business leaders make decisions, collaborate, innovate, lead teams and create strategy.
Previously, Bob has owned and operated his own business, Rustica Inc., developing expertise in the areas of management development, customer relations, and marketing. He has also directed The Clinical-Developmental Institute for several years, where he trained consultants, educators and clinicians in issues of professional practice. In addition, he has maintained a clinical therapy practice for the past twenty years. His recent consulting clients include Putnam Investments, Morgan Stanley-Dean Witter, Kaiser-Permanente, The Boston Globe and Palmer & Dodge, LLP.
Bob has published in the field of adult learning and adult developmental psychology and is currently authoring a chapter entitled, Coaching senior executives to become effective business leaders: the use of adult developmental theory and practice. He holds an A.B. and M.Ed. from Rutgers University, and an Ed.D. from Harvard University, in Human Development and Systems Communication. He is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
